Does graphic card got anything to do with making a better more realistic creatures in blender?

does a computer graphic card has anything to do with making a better 3D models in blender? yeah I own a laptop it isn't really high tech It got an intel GMA 4500MHD card I (I know it's not built for high end gaming) but can I make a realistic looking monster using that card in blende? please help... :(
