Protectionism-Gordon Brown's only hope of survival?

Nah, bad idea- because you'd have to leave the EU, creating schism and bad will with our European neighbours. Then, you're suffering because of the price of labour in the UK... everything will become more expensive... and you aren't going to be able to export the goods. You create more jobs in a brief spurt, but it won't be sustainable. Economic success doesn't follow, and Gordon goes to a bad fate, possibly worse than the one he is bound for now. Actually, who's fooling who? He's going to be looked after in the end- don't worry about Gordon, worry about what's going to help the country.
