2000 ford focus, engine bogs down when peddle floored and black smoke out exhaust?

car sputters out exhaust pipe when idling and when i rev lightly the car revs without much of a problem but when i floor the peddle the engine doesnt wanna rev and bogs down until it stalls out and blows black smoke out the exhaust pipe. im going tomorrow to get plugs and a fuel filter and wireset for it, maybe just a tune up. but any other ideas of what it could be? hasnt had much done to it as far as i know.
